Speaker of the Senate Semester Review
The Fall 2011 Semester is now complete. I would like to reflect on all of the Student Senate accomplishments.
GR Update from Sen. Clifford
Hey everyone this is Freshman Senator Clifford reporting. I hope everyone's days are winding down as finals draw closer. Even though I've only been on UISG for a relatively short period of time, I still have a few things to report to everyone.
Since being elected to UISG I have been placed on the Governmental Relations Committee, (much to my excitement). During my first committee meeting as a UISG Senator the GR committee decided that there was sufficient need to create a lobbying training day for the Senators. Each year everyone from UISG is welcome to lobby on behalf of the University at Regents Day in March.
After a hectic couple weeks the 1st annual Lobbying Training Session occurred last Tuesday night after our normal general assembly meetings. During the training UISG had the opportunity to interact personally with all of Iowa City and Johnson County's state legislators. The night was a huge success and I know everyone took something positive away from it.
Things are winding down while we count down to winter break, but once we resume session in January I can't wait to see what is in store for me at UISG.
