UISG & ECGPS Endorse a 2014-2015 Tuition Freeze
October 2, 2013, the University of Iowa Student Government (UISG) and Executive Council of Graduate and Professional Students (ECGPS) voted unanimously to endorse the 2014-2015 resident undergraduate tuition freeze.
The legislation, known as UISG-ECGPS Joint Resolution 4, was passed during a meeting between the University of Iowa’s two student governments. The proposed 2014-2015 tuition freeze, approved by the Iowa Board of Regents, would keep Iowa’s three Regent Universities’ tuition rate frozen at the 2013-2014 levels.
UISG and ECGPS urge the State of Iowa Legislature and Governor Branstad to approve the Board of Regents’ proposed funding increase for Fiscal Year 2015 in order to make the tuition freeze possible.
The proposed tuition freeze will allow the University of Iowa the ability to continue to provide a top-ranked, affordable education focused on high academic rankings, moderate pricing, and a superior quality of student life.
