On Thursday, May 2, we’ll be celebrating the 2nd annual Phil’s Day on campus.
Phil – short for philanthropy – is a nickname that we use to refer to the many alumni and friends who make donations to the UI. If you have made a donation to the university or have been the beneficiary of a gift to the UI, you are Phil. Phil’s Day is our day to celebrate, and we hope you’ll join us.
Leading up to Phil’s Day, we are hosting another event to celebrate the impact of philanthropy on campus—the #philwashere Instagram Challenge!
This challenge will be held between April 1 – 14, and it is your chance to illustrate exactly where you see Phil at work on campus. Here is how the challenge works:
1. Follow @uiphil on Instagram
2. Snap a photo of philanthropy at work on campus
3. Share it on Instagram, or email it to firstname.lastname@example.org
4. Tag the photo #philwashere
By entering the challenge, you could win an iPod/MP3 docking station!
You can find Phil at work on campus in many ways: supporting buildings you have class in, professors who teach your classes, your friends who have scholarships, and much more! To find more details about the challenge, visit www.uifoundation.org/philwashere.
After the challenge ends, remember to watch for more information about Phil’s Day on May 2nd!
